My age is 73. I had a PVP Dec 2003 and still get up usually twice, and
very occasionally once, per night. During the day I can go 4 to 5
hours between bathroom trips. My GP doctor says the night trips are
due to gravity. Fluid accumulates in my legs during the day and flows
back into the kidneys at night when I'm lying flat. Before the PVP I
was going 3 or 4 times at night. I tried taking Lasix (fast acting
diuretic) in the afternoon to try to get rid of the fluid before
bedtime but that was inconvenient because it involved planning ahead
so I wouldn't be going out anywhere in late afternoon and have to look
for a bathroom. And I still had to get up at night. Anyway, it's not
so bad. Overall I am satisfied with the PVP results.
