Not knowing what your Uro told you I would suggest that you stop
taking any prostate related drugs ASAP. Why do I say this...think
of it this way, the laser will generate a passage of a given size. If you
have used drugs to make the passage larger, they will be removing
less material. If you wait to stop the drugs until afterwards, any drug
related passage enlargement will stop its effect and end up narrowing
the channel by that amount, somewhat negating the whole purpose
of doing it in the first place.

I would hold off on the exercises for awhile but swimming in the ocean
or going to the steam room shouldn't cause any problem. I used a hot
tub after mine and it actually helped me. I did drink lots and lots of
water for about a week. I also took ibuprofen for a few days as an
anti-inflammatory. Drove home 100 miles the next morning after a
3:00 p.m. procedure. Even went out to dinner with friends that evening.

Hope you have a successful procedure and thanks for keeping us
informed of your progress.

I have read all the newsgroup posts for the past 4 months, very, very
enlightening, thank you to all the contributors.

I am going in on 8-23-05 at Boca Raton Community Hospital, Florida USA.
I shall report to the Group how things are working out.
I have, however, a couple questions:
1. I live on the ocean. How soon after surgery can I go back to swim in the
pool or the ocean, sit around in a wet swimsuit or go to the steam room?
2. I love the Canadian Airforce Exercises (remember from the 1970's? I have
the fitness level of a 7 year old) When can I go back to do them again?
3. Any practical advice for me before I go in?
4. Anybody have experience with Boca Raton Community Hospital?
