Now, having spent hours over the past day(s) researching PDAs of all kinds on
the Web, I'm thinking the Tungsten E is probably the best unit for my
purposes -- it will hold a collection of reference materials and when it's
working properly; it provides a highly legible display of text and images;
and it's available new for less than half the price of other qualifying PDAs.

Although hours of Googling turned up a lot of complaints about the quality of
the current generation of Palm PDAs, I am still considering a purchase of a
Tungsten E. Now I wonder how well have the Tungsten PDAs performed for you
and your colleagues?

Have you complaints about noise--an annoying whine or high-frequency
buzz--that seems to be generated by the display?

Have you experienced display quality problems, such as development of
persistent horizontal and vertical alignment problems or fading of the image?

How long have your PDAs been in service? (Many complainants state that
successively owned Palm PDAs deteriorated into complete failure to operate
after around six months of usage -- complainants also specify the PDAs were
treated without any misuse or abuse, but failed anyway.)

Are you satisfied with start-up times, search-speed for reference
information, and battery life in the clinical environment and elsewhere?

Thank you for your response,
