Thank you for the origninal post with which I agree completely.
Stranger things have happened, although I can't quite recall what they were :o) I'm still waiting on the cavalry to ride in....where in heck are they? Iraq? Columbia? Where is that great friend of George's, Vicente, who is so fond of crossing our border? How many landing craft does the US Navy own? How many tents and portapotties does the US Army own? Who, in their right mind, would not declare a national emergency in the bullseye of something like this? Florida knows that hospitals can be destroyed by something far less dangerous than Katrina.
I keep seeing George showing up on TV, uttering another inane "thank you for coming" to thank everyone for showing up to hear him say nothing at all. Where is that great Preacher in Chief, so fond of showing up on teevee with US military assets in the background? Is he a sham and a fake, or just scratching his head and wondering what to do? He handed the airline industry's welfare to OBL in return for crashing a couple of planes that the great US military should have noticed were off course before they hit THREE buildings, the most important of which was the PENTAGON. To protect us from more of OBL's crafty plans, the US congress has handed our freedoms, in the name of the Patriot Act, to gosh knows who. The gov't has been searching my gramma's underpants for bombs, while they don't notice the next big hit coming right at them. Now, if we had money to spend, we could have highways and railroads that handle the evacuations when we tell folks to get out of town. If Katrina had come ashore where I live, Florida would be missing.
