Fosamax sabbatical?

My doc thinks taking me off Fosamax for six months or a year to see
what happens is a good idea. This make sense? I did Fosamax for two
years minimal improvement. 52 year old male, idiopathic, pena in the
hip and slight OP in the spine. Thoughts?
