One comment I forgot to respond to, you said you drank a lot of milk.
According to George Kessler, perhaps the leading expert on osteoporosis, that is NOT a good thing. Yes, it has calcium, but it also leaches calcium from the bones. He also points out there is LESS osteoporosis in countries that don't drink milk.
On the other hand, the worst thing you could have done is drink soda. Did you?
I HIGHLY recommend you read the Bone Density Diet by George Kessler. It
not only discusses diet implications, but also medications, and the forces that create and destroy bones.
