Re: Another question

Anne,

I'm sure I must have brought this up to you before, but have you considered the intravenous bisphosphonates like Pamidronate and/or Zometa? That would bypass your digestive tract completely.

I recently ran into a former neighbor I had not seen for a few years.
After I got home I remembered she belonged to the Christian Science
faith. I remember she would never take any type of medicine for any
health problems. Knowing this, I am wondering if there are any
statistics for people of the CS faith who have osteoporosis. If they
adhear to their beliefs and I know she did, Is their rate of
fractures, broken hips, etc much higher than the population in general?

I have stated in earlier posts that during the last 4 years I have
tried Foxomax, than Actonel and three months ago I began Boniva. All
three prescriptions have given me very bad digestion problems. I have
also stated that I am leary of FDA approvals due to short testing time.
I am ready to call it quits. I am afraid I am wrecking my digestive
system with this stuffr. My Tscore is -1.9 in spine and -3.5 in hips..
I am now wondering about this group of people who refuse drugs. Are
they breaking hips, and experiencing a collapse of their spines a lot
more often than the rest of us? I dont mean this question to sound
silly but I think research would be interesting. I see my regular
doctor Friday and am scheduled for an annual Dexa in mid September with
the encronologist. I know he will suggest forteo. I will probably have
the same side affects. Anne
