They are asking you because the genetic aspects of Osteoporosis are
stronger than almost any other risk factor... Of course they could
order the gentic text but if you knew you had relatives with dowagers
hump or broken bones, that would save them the trouble. And I belive
that the prescriptive treatment advised is now different for those with
the genetic predisposition.
They ask me too ....and I have canned answer with some examples ready -
