You realize the long term effect of fosamax are argued. Many think it will create bones that have higher Z scores, but since it stops the body from removing weak bones, they will not be strong bones.
You see the constant HEALTHY activity is that weaker bone is removed. Fosamax prevents that. So the scores are higher, but are they truly stronger or thicker and brittle? That's argued in circles and we don't have the long term data to prove it. We are the guinea pigs.
More important is exercise and diet. Remember that calcium is not absorbed with zinc and vitamin D. Consider sea weed, it is super rich in minerals.
Really, the biggest problems in our bone were caused when we were growing up being given soda pop, too much protein and other junk foods,
or whatever reason. PLEASE don't give children phosphoric acid.
