Hello,

Here is a sentence: "He was too old--sixty if he was a day--to be him." I know the phrase "if he/it is...", but I can't put my hands on any official reference... Would the right French translation be "il n'avait PAS MOINS de soixante ans"?

"He's sixty years old if he's a day" is the present tense. But stories are mostly told in teh past tense, so in a story it wo8uld be "He was sixty years old if he was a day". It emasns "He was at least sixty years old."
