I want to translate "Recorded in liquid nitrogen in Averoigne"* into
French (i.e. a band has literally recorded their music playing inside
a tank of liquid nitrogen). So far I've come up with <<Enregistré dans
l'azote liquide en Averoigne>>.

*(Averoigne is a French province invented by the American author Clark
Ashton Smith.)

TV:

It is used for freezing to extreme temperatures and storage of certain
sensitive materials. IIRC, liquid nitrogen boils at under -300 F. It is also
employed to gasify environments to make contained atmospheres inhospitable
to bacterial rusting, among many other things.The first property would
presumably have some amusing effects on sound if the specially
adapted microphones (hydrophones?) or speaker output elements could somehow
be protectively encased and immersed in the liquid nitrogen.

Actually putting the band personnel in a filled tank is ludicrous.
Tanks of that size are very rare and would be at extremely large, extremely
specialized industrial facilities. What company would insure that? I fail to
believe there any protective suits
or enclosures sufficient to keep the people from quickly freezing to death
and
the instruments from cracking up when immersed in that liquid. But, hey, if
you
want to be in the ultimate Polar Bear club....

It would seem that this band might have either used approaches involved in
my first
paragraph or, much more reasonably, played in an empty tank allowing amusing
echoic
effects, especially as it would be at least double walled. Not that this
entails my French translation of the phrase. But anyone translating
it might want to take en passant regard of this in making their formulation.
