Since it would be preferable to retain the original script, you could also
download the free word-processing program fromhttp://www.openoffice.org/.
Microsoft Word is notoriously inadequate for correctly handling scripts
other than Roman. You can get it to work, but you've got to download
add-ons, make sure you format for right-to-left text, etc. OpenOffice,
however, will do it with no problem.
P.S. If, for some reason, you need to have it in .doc format, you can create
it in OpenOffice, then instead of saving it in the default .odt format, you
can save it in .doc format. MS Word will then open it correctly.
If that's too much trouble, since I just performed the above operation to
make sure what I said was correct, I have the Farsi text correctly displayed
in .doc format so, if you'd like, I can send it to your e-mail as an
attachment . . .
Thanks for the reply. The whole process is not much trouble for me
pc at 100% or even working at 50% efficiency. I'm still running a 10yr
450Mhz computerusing 1st edition Windows 98 with 256k memory. This
wouldn't be a problem, but....for some reason, something has corrupted
hard disk and eaten up all my free space so I'm unable to download any
programmes or even scan and load documents/pictures to my hard disk.
If you have the text .doc form that is on Word, then I should be able
print it if it's sent as an attachment, then cut it out and paste it
greeting card. If it's not too much trouble, would it be possible to
include thre translation in Roman script on the off-chance the Farsi
will not print out? Would of course be freferable to have it in Farsi
on a Word document I could print out. The full text of what I wished
I wish you all of the joy and happiness that your heart can hold. We
know that most gifts in this world are sadly too often lost or
but my love and admiration for you grow stronger every day.
I miss you a lot, and hope that your heart will belong to me, I always
and love you from the bottom of my heart.
I hope this greeting finds you in peace, and surrounded by love from
family and friends. I think of you everyday and feel your sweet spirit
I will never forget you. and you are always in my heart.
I have the above in Farsi script as well, but cannot copy it to Word
getting a load of unintelligible nonsense of the ??????!!!!!! type.
Much appreciation and thanks in advance.
