They take a perfectly good disaster scenario screw up the science and then
add really lame plot lines.
"San Francisco" (1936), directed by W.S. Van Dyke & starring Clark
Gable, Jeanette MacDonald, Spencer Tracy: a great MGM melodrama with
an exciting earthquake & an honest-to-goodness story taking priority.
It's finally on DVD, too!
You'll have a hell of a lot better time watching "San Francisco" than
you will sitting through the crappy disaster "epics" of the 1970s or
any of their progeny of the last twenty years.
