Re: white vs black



My preference for dark text on a light background dates back to the
days of 80 column by 24 line CRTs. I found it much easier on my eyes
to look at SOLID black letters on a field of light scan lines rather
than white letters made up of discernably separate dots and segments
on a solid black field. Even with today's much higher resolutions I
still find that to be the case. But I agree that a high intensity
bright-white background is harsh and tiring. I set up my desktop to
use a moderate intensity cream-tinted off white for text windows.
