Hi All,
I had an nice trip to Lassen Park today. I went through the Clear Lake
area last night and that was interesting. The red soils look like
blood washed into the cracks in the pavement in the dark. I went on a
road I've never been on before and it wound all around through the
mountains and there was nothing around. When I saw the sign which said
Elk, Next 7 Miles I got a little concerned. If I hit one of those I'd
be toast for sure.

Glad that you enjoyed it! We camped there years ago, and I freaked with joy
over the variety of volcanic features. I especially liked the "cold"
bubbling lakes!
