Hmmm... I was about to say, wouldn't that make it 'trawling' then?
being the boat is known as a 'trawler'.

However, a look in my dictionary indicates:

trawl: a conical net used in fishing dragged behind a boat, TROLL
trawler: a boat that drags a trawl
trawling: the act of dragging a trawl

troll: a lure or line used in fishing dragged behind a boat
troller: a boat that drags a troll
trolling: the act of dragging a troll

troll: a mythical beast of Teutonic origin that lives in caves
or hills

Interesting, no mention of living under bridges and demanding tolls
from passersby. (a "toll troll"?)

Needless to say, in the context of usenet, being a troll is a bad
thing.
