Hi;

I'm thinking of getting T12s in a bathroom and in the kitchen. There's
a GE 20W T12 that claims to be particularly suited for this
application, and has lots of lumens (over 1100).

I can get Cooper fixtures:
SN-120-LTS-120VU
1 LAMP, 2' STRIP, LOW TRIGGER START BALLAST, T12 662400102816 4.2 1
168
? ? ? ?
SN-120-PH-120VU
1 LAMP, 2' STRIP, PREHEAT, T12 662400230335

I don't know how to choose; the low trigger is cheaper.

There's a Lithonia fixture I found, 472214, but trying to dig through
Lithonia's web site has baffled me for the time being.

Any advice/recommendations appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

20-watt T12 lamps are rather inefficient, primarily due to
their short length-to-diameter ratio. They are also "old
technology" fluorescent lamps and rarely use the best
phosphors.

Also, both the fixtures you list seem to use magnetic
ballasts, which use mush more power than electronic
ballasts.

A fixture using 4-foot T8 lamps and electronic ballasts
would be a better choice for the kitchen. If 4-foot is too
long for the bathroom, I would find something using a T8 or
T5 lamp that also has an electronic ballast.

You don't say where you are located. I'm assuming the US
because of the 120 volt spec, but we have people here from
many different countries and it helps to know which country
you are in so we can provide better advice.
