What's the time Mr shitty LED clock.

Here's a picture of the clock on the departure display board at Central Station in Glasgow. It forms part of a huge display system that uses primarily yellow LED matrix panels to display train information. The yellow sections of the display perform flawlessly.
The clock on the other hand..... I'm not sure what make the LEDs are, but I'll guess they are generic Chinese LEDs. As you'll see if you follow the link to the picture below, it's not fared too well in the modest length of time it's been up.

I bet the tech department were all excited when white LEDs seemed to become affordable enough to use in an application like this. I also bet their hearts sank as they suddenly realised that the Chinese had introduced the world's first LEDs that could destroy the amazing reputation that LEDs had gained for being virtually indestructible.
Having been stung the same way with the afore mentioned Chi Wing LEDs, I can sympathise with their plight. I bet the LEDs came from the same source.
