Thermic Reactions

Greetings all

with a basic knowledge of chemistry,
How can I find what chemical reactions rate the highest
on both the endo-thermic and exo-thermic ranges
realizing that a high ranking endo-thermic reaction
would be a very low exo-thermic. Since
Endo-Thermic takes in heat and Exo-thermic gives off heat.
I also realize that reactions work in both directions, but
one would occur naturally while the reverse would require
"prompting"

Also is there any software, that given the chemical, that it would
work out the formula for you
eg one that I know:
2Zn + 2HCL  -> H2 + 2ZnCl + Heat

1) If I gave the software Zn and wanted Heat, that it would calculate
   that I would require HCL?

2) if I gave the software Zn and HCL, that is would calculate
and say that heat was a result?

Also, any good chemistry software (free or shareware preferred) as I don't earn that much to spend $$$ on a pet hobby.

Thank you in advance for you help

Thanks
Barry
