Proton battery

I was browsing and found something which is in between supercaps and li-ion batteries: the proton battery. It uses two different polymers, between which H+ is transported.

Claims are 3 x lower wh/kg than lead-acid, but lots higher power density. According to their graph not terribly interesting - though things could change.
Moving H+ around seems more effective than moving Li+...
