You have another problem with cold batteries that you didn't mention.
Colder temperatures reduce their capacity. If the mfgr doesn't have
tables relating temperature to capacity, I think the Battery FAQ does.
What good are batteries that have to be kept fully charged? You'd never be able to get any energy from them. So I presume you won't be using them in the winter? If you will, it seems to me you'd benefit greatly by keeping them inside.
