Western Region Customer Applications Scientist
The Western Region Customer Applications Scientist will support the
sale of Eksigent's chromatography products to leading pharma,
biotech companies, and Universities on the east coast. Applicants
will demonstrate Eksigent's HPLC systems in the Eksigent laboratory
and at customer sites, develop methods, write application notes, and
work directly with end users on method development, interfacing
systems to mass spectrometers, and method optimization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct demonstrations of Eksigent's HPLC systems to potential
customers, both in Eksigent's application laboratory and at customer
sites.
Act as technical liaison between Eksigent's customers and the sale
team and factory.
Analyze customer samples with Eksigent's HPLC products and provide
reports on those sample analyses to customers.
Demonstrate Eksigent's HPLC systems with a variety of mass
spectrometers using both nano and microspray ESI sources.
Act as the technical expert for the sales team in presenting
technical presentations and on-site customer consulting when
necessary.
Contribute to the development of new LC applications for the LC
product line including writing application briefs to highlight
product capabilities and making contributions to recognized
scientific forums, including written, oral and poster presentations.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to Eksigent's field
service team and directly with customers.
Assist in Eksigent's marketing activities and aiding in the training
of the sales team.
Evaluate and provide feedback on new products prior to release.
Accompany sales representatives on sales calls in customers'
laboratories to provide technical and applications assistance in
response to customer inquiries.
Support consignment sales placements at key customer sites in the
field through on-site visits and telephone communication.
Provide start-up applications consulting to customers in their lab
oratories.
Prepare and present seminars to customers, potential customers and
work with sales team in the development of technical sales
strategies.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent, Ph.D.
strongly preferred.
5+ years laboratory experience in the field of chromatography, and
practical experience operating HPLC and LC/MS systems.
Experience in HPLC method development required.
Experience using nanospray LC/MS/MS for proteomics preferred.
Industrial experience specifically providing pre/post sale technical
support to a sales organization and presenting technical seminars is
strongly desired.
Ability to travel extensively required.
