Radiation safety and scanning electron microscope

We currently have a Philips SEM Model CM120 in one of the rooms of our
laboratory and we need the additional desk space. Is it safe to have
the workers in our lab sit next to this machine all day if the machine
is rarely used? Is it safe to sit next to this machine all day if the
machine is in constant use?

I have tried contacting Philips with this question, but this is
considered a 'billable' question so I thought that I would try to get
the answer elsewhere first...
