Tropicalization

I have a specification asking for our equipment to be "tropicalized" in
accordance with appendix C to withstand the tropical environment during
shipping, storage, and operation after installation. Materials that
inhibit fungus growth shall be used or a fungicide coating or treatment
shall be applied. Tropicalization provisions shall be permanent and
suitable to inhibit long term corrosion and fungus growth during the
life of the power plant.
We manufacture hot-dipped galvanized cable tray. Appendix C calls for
a Tropicalization varnish that meet MIL-V-173C and MIL-T-152B. We have
never applied any such tropicalization treatments, so we are trying to
figure out what this means and if it is necessary for us. Will hot dip
galvanizing the steel meet this requirement? If not, what do we need
to do to meet the spec. And do you know anybody that can provide the
service of applying these coatings.
Any information on this will help greatly.
