I'm not talking about media, I just talking about dilution/rinse water.

The lab aide fills about 20-25 500 mL bottles and places them inside a
shallow tub (to catch the overflow) and places the tub in the
autoclave. So, we're talking about a total volume of 10-12 L of water.
