Just wondering....

I just started with the Seti at home software, and hope it really makes a
difference in the broad scheme of things. I am running it on the computer I
just build, Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800 FSB processor with 1 Gb memory and 320 Gb
hard drive space.

I am not a scientist or anything like that - just an average Joe but it
seems to me that in the search for evidence of life beyond earth it would
also be wise to enable that life to find us as we search for it - huh?
Perhaps, it would be wise to build a probe, maybe one every three years or
so to launch into deep space for greeting life if it is advanced. The probes
would need to be able to deliver a message perhaps in 10,000 years from now,
so the power source has to be considered= should be able to use solar I
would think.

Another thought, is it feasible to land probes on Asteroids, that is a
difficult thing to do i know but I would think we would get better at it the
more we do it. Why, because these asteroids are on a long distance voyage
through the universe and when they enter our region they are only passing
through in most cases, I believe, and will end up in far reaches of the
universe that we cannot get to currently - but at least our message can
I am sure for scientist they will find many reasons why this cannot be
done, but we have to make it easier for ET to locate us or even know we are
here, not only for us to find them. I would think getting message probes
out there would be a very high priority, so high that one a year would be
the dream scenario but one every few years is probably the realistic view.
Anyone with any comments are welcomed I'll check back soon.....
