There are certain unique disadvantages to nuclear, which cannot be denied.

But if a nuclear plant were to release the radiation a fossil fuel plant releases it would be shut down and be front page news. That is a fact. There are risks but not that interesting given designs that have been around for decades.

Agreed. The nuclear plant is better yet in that the radioactive waste is very small, compact and easily handled. We could instead grind it into dust and mix it in with thousands of tons of other pollution to take 'advantage' of the lax regulations for the coal-fired plants...

(For anyone who hasn't guessed: Coal is also radioactive.)

[... Much fair comment ...]
So a crash program for fission power to give us more years to get fusion online. Sounds like a plan.

I agree. Also push for speeding up the development of Fusion. ITER is presently planned to be a rather slow development. Meanwhile, JET has long ago shown that fusion power is possible.

The Jane Fondas are the worst problem.

They are the worst problem for educating to full reality!

I do my own analysis thank you. I suggest you begin doing your own before you swallow what you are told by non-politicians who buy politicians to support their approach.

All politicians need lobbying to raise the urgency for offsetting the PRESENT Global Warming. Unfortunately, their focus is largely on their problems for tomorrow rather than the larger global stuff just a few months away...
