Re: New Poll on WindSurfing Mag...

Hey Cliff,

Some of the design constraints of our website limited the amount of
words I have to phrase my question; and, of course, a proper survey
would include more questions to put the data in context.

However, 1) those are resources I don't have, and 2) I'm a little more
interested in the general 'gut' reaction elicited by a strong
statement (especially in our weak economic times) that's meant to be
taken at face value as the reader interprets it.

That said; I'm very interested in hearing what others' opinion and
feedback is; which is why comments like yours are insightful. -

-start quote
"It's not too expensive to me for the benefit I get.

Is the question "is it so expensive it keeps significant numbers of
people away from the sport?"? Well, maybe, but I think the difficulty
of learning is MUCH more of a barrier.

Is the question "is it too expensive because there isn't enough
competition
and the prices are artificially high?" Well I think that's clearly
wrong
because there seems to be a lot of competition for our windsurfing
bucks and
we all benefit from it."

- end quote

Do you feel there a general impression that prices are inflated (more
so than any other hard goods Americans purchase?)
