I have a LiteOn which claims it will record onto audio CDs, IIRC. I don't know how well it works - never tried it.
However, the way I recorded from radio (or any other analog audio input, of course) was to record onto a DVD. I connected the composite video input to a VCR output and the stereo audio input to the receiver's tape out. I set the VCR to the local TV guide channel, which (a) was very dull, and (b) had an onscreen clock, which helped me navigate through the audio.
I was able to record for a few months without the TV input, but then it started failing to record, so I went back to Plan A, as described above.
