In the last month or so I've noticed that I have zero signal strength
on the 119 satellite (Sat B) while the other two remain in the low
90's. Because it's the same on all three receivers, it was clear to
me that it was the LNB or the multiswitch. SInce my dish has all 3
LNB's and the multiswitch integrated into a single head, I thought it
wold be a simple matter to buy another dish and swap out the LNB/MS
unit. I did and...no effect whatsoever.

I'm at a loss. The trees in my naighborhood are big, but mature and
are growing slowly. Could it be that a tree is now blocking the
satellite enough so that it's signal could drop from 90 to zero in a
month? Is there another possibility?

Sounds like trees to me.

I was just on the roof putting the original LNB/MS unit back on so I
could return the new one. Looked closely. Virtually no trees...I
can't believe what little there was can't be the problem.

It isn't the right time of year for both Azimuth and Elevation to line
up exactly where the dish is located, but you can still use the moon and
sun to identify them individually.

I picked Zipcode 20001 - DC to get (use
http://www.zipinfo.com/search/zipcode.htm for yours)
77.0177 W Long
38.9122 N Lat
and plugged them in at
http://perso.numericable.fr/~gjullien/satellite.htm
Selecting 119 W Sat and clicking Calc 1st date shows Oct 7th as the date
when the Sun will match both Az and El, but it also lists times this
weekend when the (faint) moon will be quite close to both 235° Az and
27° El.
17Jun 9:29 EDT the moon is at 232.91° & 25.4°
18Jun 10:16 the moon is at 237.8° & 30.85°
Today at 14:32, the sun will be at the right Az (235.11°) but way off on
Elevation.
Today at 17:58, the sun will be at the right El (27.63°), but off on Az.

You can click next date to find other times when the moon/sun lines up
with one or the other at the bottom of that URL. You just need a
landmark to mark Az/El until the other one happens to allign.

Tan (27.62°) = .52 so you can get elevation with a triangular piece of
cardboard about twice as long as it is high and sight along the
hypotenuse with the long side on a level. Easier to do at ground level
instead of balancing on the eave of a roof! HTH.
