Comcast has been responsive to my complaints. I have had three
replacement DVR boxes from them in the last two years. I have never
had this much trouble with a cable box before. This is my first
experience with DVRs, so I am have nothing to compare my it too. So my
question is, do similar problems happen in the Tivo, Dish and Directv
DVRs?
I have no idea. What I DO know is that a DirecTV "Dll-300" model dbs
receiver and a Pioneer model DVR633HS DVR is a killer combination. NO
problems. None. We also never watch TV "live", we're always watching
DirecTV programming on the Pioneer DVR. Plus, no rental fees, no dvr
charges, etc. I own the DVR. -Dave
Similarly, from a TiVo owner here, your Comcast experiences are completely
ridiculous. It is unheard of to have anything but a minor issue with the
TiVo - nothing even close to what you describe. It sounds to me like you
should dump the Comcast DVR, get a TiVo, hook that up to your environment,
and have that be the end of your problems.
