I record weddings locally using 2 Sony DSR-250 DVCAM cameras. I was atIf your DVD looks fine at the office but your customers aren't seeing the
a wedding show the other day, and a few booths had the Canon XL1/XL2
cameras. I know these are SD cameras, however was wondering how they
compared to the DSR-250.
I have been having issues with my footage on LCD monitors. I
understand it is still SD, but the monitors both CRT and some LCD pc
monitors and tvs I test in my office look good, but when I hand them
out to customers, they hardly look as good as a webcast. I understand
the settings on tvs can cause the pictures to look good or bad,
however i have lost confidence in my footage in SD, and really do not
know if I could afford HDV at this time.
Is there big enough a difference between the DSR-250 and Canon series
to warrent a change, or should i just keep the sonys and wait until
hdv?
THanks

same thing,
perhaps the problem is with your monitoring equipment or method. Many of us
still have profesional analog monitors and color bar generators so that we
can have a
reliable reference. There are LCD reference monitors these days but I think
the
good ones still start around $5000. A compararable tube is half of that.
