You might want to build some half-rounds (out of plywood is good) and putThat is correct. The frequencys blocked, and how much they
them on at least two of the walls to further disrupt the parallel
surfaces. Curtains only absorb the high frequencies; mids and especially
lows tend to go right through them and bounce off the hard parallel walls
behind them.

get blocked, are directly related to how heavy the fabric is.
Carpet or rugs pretty good if you keep them out from the wall,
even better with insulation behind. Trapping bass is harder.

Have a look at Sonex foam: it is about six inches thick, and in the middle
there is a rubber *** about 2mm thick, I suppose to keep low frequencies
from travelling all the way through and bouncing back into the room. In
addition the surface is roughly-porous to trap high frequencies, and there
is a pattern of bumps and valleys (like egg crates) at the front to trap mid
frequencies. The stuff is hugely effective but also hugely expensive.
Another option, following Dave's comments, would be to hang multiple rugs or
cloths at any given wall. If you position them correctly away from the walls
you can create somewhat-effective "bass traps" (they have to be fairly
thick). This can be much more effective than hanging a single piece of thick
cloth directly on the wall. And don't forget the ceiling!
