What's the performance difference between the 2.8GHZ vs. 3.0 GHZ processors? Then, why do you have three of them. Are they older models? No they're brand new.
I have three because when I bought these a few months ago they were the least expensive 8 core machines out there. AND the ONLY ones with the 3GHZ procs. No other company could even get them. Keep in mind I also have 34 little Quad core pcs here that do most of the heavy hauling..
The Macs don't run OSX but very rarely. They boot int XP and await my every command. :)
I don't have any benchmark tests but do use my two processor MacPro in a small render farm running XP. It's has 2.8 GHz processors and only 2 GB of RAM. Each node of the MacPro renders a frame or slice 2-3X faster than either of the 3+ GHz, single core AMD machines. Plus, both of the AMD systems are pretty much maxed out; even trying to launch a browser to check mail is painfully boggy. On the Mac Pro, I could easily still work on something in PhotoShop and check the mail.
