Not wanting to start yet another religious war but.....
Was asked by a Mac fanboy if I were going to "get
serious" about video and get a Mac.

Perhaps you should refer your Mac fanboy to nappy's
real-world head-to-head comparison. He said (and I
have absolutely no reason do doubt) that even running
on Mac hardware (with Intel CPUs), MS Win beats
the Mac OS, and Premiere beats FCP. :-)

Again, Macs are fine, fine boxes, but there is a
certain kind of person that thinks that if you want
to be an artiste, you have to use an Mac and they
ain't the only way of doing things!

Yes, the contempt for the "other side" is bilateral and
mutual. However the market share numbers speak
objectively for themselves. :-)
