When I output the bitmaps and deinterlace them in Photoshop, I notice
the top and bottom halves of the frames move in opposite directions
when viewing the odd and even frames. It doesn't matter what setting
I use in Premiere to output them. I've tried lower-field first, upper
field first and no fields.
I read the Help avail in Premiere and there was a section on fields
that seem to imply that one could reverse the field order in the clip
under Clip/Video options but that was grayed out when I went to do it.
Can anyone explain why this is happening and how to correct it?
You must select a clip in the timeline first. Then either "clip" / "video
options" or just right click on the clip and select "field options" and then
click the box "reverse field dominance" You must do this for every clip in
the timeline. So if your movie has 25 clips you must do this 25 times. And
if you have split any clips for video effects etc make sure you reverse
field dominance for those small segments too.
