ROFL really.

Avid Express Pro HD - Avid Liquid - Apple Final Cut Pro - Digidesign
Pro Tools - Sony Vegas
Studio. Motion and DVD Studio kick ass (that's why I bought it). I can
hardly believe OS X is related to that pile of *** that I used at
experienced.1. Utter bollox that was. Now it feels like an operating system.
Like I said, keep it quiet...ssshhh.....Don't tell Nappy.....OK???\
Specs is an honest person. He has no reason to post this if it weren't
true.
I am glad that OSX may have matured beyond the nightmare that I
I am generally in agreement with Specs on most things.. I still have adual
1G quicksilver around here somewhere with FCP and an AJA IO. If he keepshard
this up I may have to plug it in and bring everythign up to date. It is
to beat Premiere, Combustion and 3DSMax though. The MBP came yesterday so I have had minimal time to do anything useful with
it. It is very nicely built I must give it that. As I said in my previous
post I bought it primarily because of Motion and DVD Studio Pro. Both these
apps will compliment my PC side of the office nicely. When Shake is Intel
native I'll get a copy of that too as its the most popular compositor in my
sphere of work. Fusion5 is fantastic but hardly anyone uses it here.
OS X has definitely improved, last time I used it there was kernel panic
here and there and complete and sudden reboots straight out of nowhere! I
must admit feeling a little out of control with OS X as it does just sooo
much for the user. Completely built for idiots! I like to know where all
the stuff is being installed. Anyway no kernal panics so far! :)
You can be assured that I'll call it how I see when I get up and running on
a project and see how it behaves doing real work not just web-surfing like a
lot of macs do. My fall back position is bootcamp and Adobe if things go
sour....
All in all its a fairly low risk experiment as after all it is just a PC
laptop running OS X now. Its very competitively priced with Dell and the
like. In the UK it certainly is don't know about elsewhere though.
So watch this space.
