My daughter thought along the same lines that I did. We pre-planned and did our thing. Then, when it came time to edit, it was so much easier. Lugging around "gear" got to be a real pain.

it takes me about one entire work day to capture and edit all three cams, edit for content, title, and put the leaders and tails for the broadcast industry and then another couple hours the next day to reproduce the various media that each of the specific stations and networks need. o well, not complaining, just a lot of busy stuff.

Well, with FS drives, you can store the video directly to HD's for quick easy xfer to the computer.

we're trying to get up to speed because the same client wants to start making a movie sometime this fall or next spring. we're currently writing the script from the book he authored and even that is a task (for a new scriptor) but by that time we may move to avid's xpress pro. not sure just yet, since AL7 will output the metadata files apparently for film production. we'll start to search that then, not now :o)

AL7 with flim? I would guess so. I have only looked at it from the video aspect.

i especially like doing weddings and just like the tv shows, their tasking for sure. and the editing is far more challenging.

When I did event work.... especially weddings, I would go to the rehersal, not only to see the lighting and talk to the minister, but also to talk to the bride and bridel party. It always worked great. Editing was down to a minimum when I got home. I would set up the photo "thingie" already and would only have to add a few more "nice things" for the wedding "quickie" version.

i do hope that AL7 is updated soon so that we can upgrade. have you heard any word?

There already is SP1 out. I like the program. There are some issues with the DVD menu of it. I haven't noticed. I can only figure that Avid will be sending out the "fixes" soon (as they have already reported in forum).
