Thanks. It's a non-pro situation, sort of a neighborhood watch thing. I'm
using a camcorder because it's all I have that (usually) records both a&v
simultaneously. Needs to be portable & easy, must have a/v, & there's no
budget for equipt. or repair, thus I'm trying to kludge the miniDV a/v to
the laptop. I do have a fw cable, but it's 4-to-6 pin, and both laptop & cam
have 4-pin connects. Looks like I'll have to hunt down a 4-to-4 fw cable.
During one transfer attempt, the laptop sent a msg. that it needed to d/l an
audio codec.
