DSL. I thought the US was a first world country??

It has nothing to do with being "up to date".

When you sit on an island packed with people, it's allot easier to
implement DSL in small phone networks such as yours.

Until you come over the to the US, you can't possibly understand the
shear size and the traverse open areas to know that it's not a question
of behind behind in technologies, but more of a question of limits of
those technologies.

I see sarcasm is still not understood?

Yes. :)

I have had the displeasure to travel extensively in the US (not to mention
the rest of the world) and have probably seen more of it than most of you
hicks that live there.

And.. I too have traveled extensively though south England and France. I hate to be the one to break this one too you, but we set the pace for you. From our TV shows to Hip-Hop music, nothing new has come out of England for some time now. Being that I live in Los Angeles, it's quite hilarious to watch your teens try find some new Hip-Hop identity, and try to make it look "getto".

Its not a question of limited technology its more a question of a country
that operates ruthless capitalism where people are marginalised either
through location, income or race as was seen in New Orleans. Where there is
a will there is a way.

.... And GOD bless capitalism! Now go re-join your anti-war demonstration around Big Ben.
