final cut pro hd dilemma

I am using FCP HD and an unexpected emergency occured. i've been
cutting my film and when i go back in the timeline to play scenes,
pieces of sporadic audio and video are missing! i can see the missing
clips on my timeline as i drag it across, but when i play it, it's
gone. just black. or silence. there are gaps.

is there a way to fix this? i tried opening it up with several final
cut pro hd softwares in the studio i'm working in and it shows the
same. i can't imagine having to re-edit my feature film. it's taken me
months and i'm on a deadline. thanks for your help.
