It does seem he has read some sales blurb that stated something perhaps
like (oooh, there's that evil word again):
"Includes full SDK and advanced API"
Which to you and me would me there is a large software development kit
with an API that probably handles things like XML metadata and interfaces
with many other tools (which I can only guess at not seeing the actual
blurb or SDK/API itself) ... but to the OP it was confused as being yet
another format/codec.
IF we can just prod the OP into saying where he got these acronyms we can
be sure and and better guide him on understanding what is happening. But
it is almost certain these are as you and I have described.
