The Emerson was just a standalone, and I needed it for my TV studio, to
record studio shows direct to DVD (but it doesn't like discs faster
than 4x). The GoVideo and Sony were for home use, and yes, I thought
the quick capability to dub VCR-DVD and DVD-VCR would be a time saver.
