Did you buy the disc from a local shop or online (or even worse, from
a street vendor with them shoved in his raincoat?)

I'm just wondering about the region thing really, if you bought it
online it may be a foreign disc. I haven't actually had that problem
myself so can't say how the player would react.

could be a dodgy copy etc too. do you have someone else who can test
it in a standard dvd machine?

Hi,

Bought it from a highly rated vendor on eBay. The movie is from 20th
Century
Fox, properly packaged, secured, etc.

Played BEAUTIFULLY on my computer last night, captions and all. I was
able
to stop, fast forward, reverse, etc.

The only clue I have: I ordered it twice from Netflix, and both times it
did
not play. This time I bought it.

I'm not 100% on this but the computer is more likely to have a way of
playing discs which are incompatible with a standard player. It does
sound like a compatibility thing, whether it is regional or what I
don't know. Have you tried contacting the seller and telling them the
problem? They may be aware or offer a solution.


Possible. The disk does say NTSC on it. I'll ask them.
