Being new to burning DVDs and new to Netflix, I decided I would make a copy of a DVD if I was unable to watch it within a day. The first two movies that I have tried to copy have freezes at different points. Other TV shows that I have burned have been fine, using the same driver and the same disks. Data files burned to the same drive and same disks have been fine. They were ripped with DVDFabDecrypter and burned with DVDShrink, and neither one of the movies is listed as being problematic to copy.
How can I determine the source of the problem? A CD-Speed scan of the disk shows no bad segments. The source DVD plays fine in my DVD player (no skips, no freezes.) I can always copy the few that I cannot watch in time to tape, but I may want to watch some of the extra material on the DVD after I have returned it. (I don't usually watch that stuff, so I don't know that I would take the time to copy it all.)
Obviously most people are not having this problem, so there is something wrong with my setup.

Copy Protection? D.
Is that a question or an answer? As stated in the original post, "They were ripped with DVDFabDecrypter and burned with DVDShrink, and neither one of the movies is listed as being problematic to copy." The problem could be copy protection, or it could be lousy disks. I'll try burning again with my new NEC 4550 with my TY +Rs, when they arrive.
