Honestly Abe, it isn't encrypted. I have asked about it in the Sky
groups and folks have tested the channel on their machines and it did
not block. Theory is there's some signal being or flaw which the box
is erroneously deciding is a block. The channel is Discovery Wings. I
only discovered the problem when I was testing my discs and landed on
a show I found interesting on this channel, so I pressed to record it
all and it lasted 6 minutes before coming up with protected image.
Next time it refused to let me record, then another six minute snatch.
Maximum I managed was seven but I stupidly stopped it so I could see
if it was really fixed or just allowing a recording which was started
before the channel came on air. it lasted about the same length before
shutting off.

I emailed sky about this but have had no reply so I may call them, but
from other people with similar problems I understand they just blame
the dvd recorder.
