I use YAMB and mp4box to joined two mp4 files from a sanyo xacti vpc cg10
camcorder.
The resulting file size is the sum of the two source files, but when I
played it, only the first clip is played.
Any idea?
Is there an alternative mp4 file joiner that is lossless (i.e. does not
decompress and then re-compress the video frames) and is free?
You might try Avidemux 2.5 it is supposed to be able to use
"Copy" as a output mode for rendering the video and audio.
I just tried it and it let me add two .mp4 AVC/H.264 files and
it looked good in the preview with the two files combined as
one. I haven't gotten it to output a new file though, I need to
work with it some more, just got it a few days ago. It is free,
and seems to be equipped to do what you are describing.
Luck;
Ken
Ken... I just downloaded Avid3mux yesterday. I was confused about why there
was the install exe file and the much larger zip file available for
download. I downloaded both but only used the exe file as the zip had no
obvious setup file. Do you know what the zip file contains that may be
useful?
When I load an mp4 file it stutters when playing. (whether I answer yes or
no to the "another mode" prompt) However when I then append another mp4 file
per M.L. instruction and save I do get a new file with both files edited
together. I have to provide the extension though. Curious about that.
