Here's the link for the training courses:
http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts5/Courses/WorkspaceOrganicModeling1.asp?Cate=Training&Subcate=Fundamental
At the bottom is a download link for all the courses in a single zip.
Actually that is just one of the courses. I've downloaded more than
5GB of courseware so far. I may not live long enough to get through
them all.
I just started poking around the website. There's a ton of material
there. I guess I know what my hobby will be for the next year or so. ;)
Glad you guys, find it interesting, I checked out a number of
3D graphic editors and scene authoring programs and this one
seemed to offer the most for the money. In fact it was the only
affordable package (through an earlier give away, then a series
of low cost upgrades) that I found really useful. A lot of the
others are either very expensive >$5000 or extremely limited
and also using proprietary formats that were there to force you
to buy from them. To me the "free" Daz Studio is too much like
that, as well.
In some ways it's a really odd time to offer a free distribution.
This new version has added some really neat and cutting edge
features. Some of which like "cloth" (it means more that the
name implies) isn't even updated in their product comparison
chart. (Oh and where that chart has it for free now; it used to
be $580 something.)
They are selling the V-Ray ray trace rendering plugin for
trueSpace ~$300 about the same as the plugin for other
programs like Maya.
http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts75/Brochure/VRay1p0.asp?Cate=BRendering_vray
( Another note of on going changes, there used to be a
page that showed both TS and the plugin but I couldn't
find it today.)
There are links here with tutorials and more info on V-Ray:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-Ray
(I know it's Wiki and that throws some off, but the links are
good. [Personally I don't think Wiki is nearly as bad as some
proclaim.]
Luck;
Ken
