MovieMaker - aspect ratio problem

Any MovieMaker users around please? I've returned to MM2 after a long
break, so I may be missing something really basic, but this is
baffling me. I loaded a 3 GB AVI into MM2, deleted a section, and
saved it as DV-AVI. It's a 1912 x 1082 AVI, which is very close to
16:9. I save the movie as DV-AVI (PAL), with Tools > Options > Video
Properties set to PAL 16:9. And all looks OK in Setting Details:

File type: Audio-Video Interleaved (AVI)
Bit rate: 30.0 Mbps
Display size: 720 x 576 pixels
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Frames per second: 25

But the resultant AVI output has an AR of 4:3, not 16:9! How can this
possibly happen please?
