For a wide range of definitions of "easily". It is true that generally
speaking, the "quick format" doesn't destroy the actual data. But
it may destroy enough of the "meta-data" about the actual data to
make it very difficult, and sometimes not cost-effective to try to
recover. Not recommended to do a "quick format" thinking that
you can recover the deleted data easily.
IsoBuster can read'em pretty well.
But, yes, don't "expect" it.
